The
name of this club shall be "Moapa Valley Cactus Cruisers";
it shall be a non-profit organization.
A.
To promote interest in various types of Automobiles.
B.
To create good fellowship and sportsmanship among the members.
C.
Promote greater automotive safety in and around the community,
and to provide interested individuals with an organized and supervised
environment in which they may pursue their automotive hobbies and
interests.
D.
To conduct Club operations and activities in such a manner as
to bring about
a clearer understanding on the part of the public, the press
and law enforcement agencies of organized Car Club activities.
A.
Any person interested in Automobiles is eligible for membership.
B.
Membership may include one couple (two people).
C.
To encourage participation at all meetings and activities, membership
couples shall each have individual voting privileges.
D.
It is common knowledge that excessive drinking while driving
endangers
lives and property. It is therefore the policy of this Club that
there will be no
alcoholic beverages at any Club sponsored event.
(This does not include private Club parties.)
Any member violating this policy will be given one warning.
A second offense will subject his/her continued membership
to the approval of the members.
Any member convicted of DUI/DWI will be automatically suspended
from the Club for one (1) year.
E.
The use of narcotics is forbidden by the Club. Any member who
jeopardizes the reputation of this Club by using narcotics at a
Club event, or at any time when he/she is displaying the Club Logo
will be automatically dropped from the Club.
F.
The Moapa Valley Cactus Cruisers Car Club, organized in
Overton Nevada in December of 2002, assumes no liability for
any members actions at any time, but specifically, coming to,
during, or going to the next destination, from any club sponsored
event, including regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
G.
A member can only be dismissed from membership by a two-thirds
vote of all members present at the meeting.
This dismissal shall take place by written ballot only.
A.
The dues for the members of this Club shall be Twenty Dollars
($20.00) per year and shall be payable to the
Treasurer at the January meeting of each year.
B.
Any member whose dues are two (2) months in arrears shall be
sent a reminder note from the Treasurer. If no effort is made to
correct
his/her financial standings within thirty (30) days after being
notified,
the member will be subject to cancellation of his/her membership.
A.
The officers of the Club shall be:
President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
B.
The President shall preside at all meetings of the Club.
The President shall serve a term of one (1) year.
C.
The Vice President shall preside, in the absence of the chair.
The Vice President shall serve a term of one (1) year.
D.
The Treasurer shall collect dues, collect moneys due from the
membership, keep the books, make regular reports of the
financial condition of the Club at monthly Club meetings
and make payments from the Club funds when so ordered by the
Officers for miscellaneous expenses such as
postage, flyers, posters, signs etceteras.
The Treasurer shall serve a term of one (1) year.
E.
The Secretary of the Club shall prepare the agenda of
all meetings of the Club, attend the meetings thereof
and prepare the minutes/newsletter of such meetings.
The Secretary shall have charge of all Clubs
records, files and official documents.
The Secretary shall send a copy of the minutes/newsletter of
each meeting of the Club to be forwarded promptly to Club members.
The Secretary shall serve a term of one (1) year.
Article
6 Election of Officers:
A.
All nominees for office shall be active members in good standing.
B.
Officers shall be selected to serve by majority vote of the
members
in attendance at the meeting. Officers may serve multiple terms
(Not to exceed 2 terms in a row).
Election of officers shall take place at the January meeting of
each year and officers shall begin their term of office immediately
following a majority vote of the attending members.
C.
In case of a vacancy, a replacement shall serve the remaining
portion
of that particular officers term. While hearing the agenda item
an
Club member may, nominate a replacement for the vacant office.
A.
A majority of the members in good standing at any
meeting shall constitute a quorum.
B.
Regular membership meetings shall be held once a month
on the third (3rd) Friday of each month unless otherwise voted
upon at a regular Club meeting and members notified.
C.
The President may call special meetings in order to
facilitate any Club projects or problems that need settling.
A.
In the event the ("Moapa Valley Cactus Cruisers")
is dissolved the money in the treasury shall be donated
to a charity of which shall be approved by
majority vote of attending members.
B.
The President shall have custody of any
awards or trophies presented to the Club
only for the duration of his/her term of office.
They are not his/her personal property to keep
on a permanent basis.
In the event the Club is dissolved, the disposition
of such trophies and awards will be handled at that time.
A.
This Constitution and By-laws
may be amended at any regular or special meeting
of the membership by majority vote of the attending members.
B.
Amendments so adopted shall take effect immediately.
